LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov, which provides access to regulations, forms, Provider Information Notices (PINs), and quarterly updates. Reporting requirements (Section 101212) and Technical Support Program resources were reviewed.
Site Supervisor II Rene Maston was reminded that all adults age 18 and older, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer an existing clearance or exemption, prior to being present in the facility as required by Health and Safety Code section 1596.871. Failure to comply will result in a civil penalty of at least $100.00 per day for up to 5 days, or up to 30 days for repeat violations.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370 requires all licensed Child Care Centers built before January 1, 2010, to test their drinking and food-preparation water for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and every five years thereafter. Centers licensed after July 1, 2022, must test within 180 days as outlined in Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the facility completed lead testing in accordance with these directives and noted no lead exceedances. Additional lead information can be found at www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/water-testing-information.
LPA discussed safe sleep regulations and provided the Safe Sleep webpage: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep. LPA also advised checking the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ for recalled infant devices and recommended registering all infant equipment with CPSC.
