25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini and Licensing Program Manger (LPM) Wynn Nornoa conducted a Case Management Inspection at the facility to process a request for a decrease in licensed capacity. LPA met with Director Claudia Aguilar. The facility was originally licensed to serve 125 preschool children across 5 classrooms including the Multi-Purpose Room, STEM Lab, Art Studio, and Music/Library Room. The facility has requested a decrease in capacity to 100 preschool children, excluding Room 7. Present during the inspection were the Director and nine staff members supervising 67 preschool children. The center operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and has obtained an approved fire clearance from Dublin Fire Prevention Services.
A health and safety inspection were conducted indoors and outdoors, with indoor measurements (Rooms 3–6) totaling 3402.92 square feet and outdoor space totaling 9,659.44 square feet.
Even though the facility has approved fire clearance for 100 children, the available indoor square footage and the total number of toilets, sinks, and urinals cannot accommodate requested capacity. Based on the measurements and the total number of toilets, sinks, and urinals, the facility can only accommodate 90 preschool children in Room 3, Room 4, Room 5, and Room 6.
The facility has six toilets, two urinals, and six sinks. The staff have separate bathrooms. The director confirmed there are no bodies of water nor firearms on the premises. Preschool rooms are equipped with age-appropriate materials and equipment. The facility also operate a private elementary school in Rooms 1–2 and 8–15. Once the fire clearance is approved, Room 7 will be part of the elementary school. The facility understands that preschool and elementary children may not be commingled at any time. Shared indoor and outdoor space waivers are on the file.
Prior to licensure, an updated LIC 200A reflecting the requested capacity of 90 children and an approved fire clearance are required.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for a period of 30 days.
Appeal rights were given. An exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with director, Claudia Aguilar. |
