32 | LPA Clayton inspected the classrooms, and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and equipment in the classrooms are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The sinks and toilets are in safe and sanitary operating condition, and floors in the facility are clean and safe.
The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. There are no pools, ponds or bodies of water on the property. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children in care.
LPA Clayton conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the food storage area and observed it to be free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination, and any contaminated food is to be discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. The CCC uses filtered water for drinking and to prepare food for children in care.
LPA Clayton observed fully charged 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher in each classroom, as well as a working carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector in each classroom. LPA Clayton observed Fire Alarm pull stations in the hallway outside of the Zinnia classroom and in the hallway outside of the Lavender classroom.
LPA Clayton reviewed 6 children’s files and observed the files containing current immunization records (blue immunization cards), contact information of parents and authorized representatives, authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts.
LPA Clayton reviewed 7 employee files and found them to be in compliance. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at off-site activities.
Parents use the school QR code to sign the children in and out of the Center. A printout showing the full name of the authorized person picking up and/or dropping the child off at the Center as well as the time of day, is available to the department upon request.
