On 03/22/23 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justeene Tamayo conducted an inspection at McCarey Family Child Care Home. The purpose of the inspection was a Plan of Correction visit to review the deficiency cited on 03/16/23. LPA met with Licensee Andrea McCarey and toured the facility.

The following was observed:
During the visit LPA Tamayo observed the home was out of of ratio with (5 infants and 9 preschool children). This is a repeat violation from the citation that was given on 03/16/23. Facility has been cited a Type A citation. Please see LIC809-D. An immediate $250 civil penalty will be accessed.

Upon receipt of a Type A deficiency, a copy of the licensing report must also be posted for 30 days. The same report must be provided to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months & licensee must obtain a signed Acknowledgement of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224) from parent/guardian & place it in each child's file. Copies of the reports must be provided to each parent when a Type A violation is cited along with Acknowledgment of Receipt of Licensing Reports LIC 9224. If these requirements are not met civil penalties per violation will be assessed.

Exit interview conducted, a copy of this report, appeal right's, and Notice of Site Visit was left with licensee Andrea McCarey.

Licensee will ensure she is following ratio at all times. Licensee called parents for day care children to be picked up so licensee will be in compliance. LPA observed one infant and one preschool age child picked up from the day care. LPA went over and provided licensee a copy of the ratio regulations.

On 03/22/23 LPA Tamayo observed a total of 14 day care children present. LPA observed 5 infants and 9 preschool children in care, which poses an immediate health and safety risk to children in care.

LPA advised licensee may only have 3 infants in care as long as one child is enrolled in kindergarten and one child is at least age 6.
