On 10/11/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lillian Casillas conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. LPA met with Assistant 1, Mayra Torres, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm. LPA observed 2 staff (cleared and associated) with 8 children in care, including 4 infants. Licensee, Patricia Kennedy, arrived at approximate 1:50PM.

All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a single story house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The following areas are designated as off limits in the Family Child Care Home: Master bedroom and bathroom (this bedroom is to the right off the living room), and bedroom 2 (adjacent to the master bedroom). The kitchen is used for food preparation. Facility provides breakfast, lunch, and morning/afternoon snack. LPA observed child safety latches on lower cabinets and child safety knobs on the stove. The kitchen area was found to be clean and sanitary. The knives and sharp objects are placed up high, making them inaccessible to children in care. Children eat on a bench and portable high chairs for the infants. Bedroom 2 which is to the right off the kitchen just past the refrigerator belongs to the applicant and is made inaccessible by lock. The laundry room is just through the kitchen between the bedrooms and the bathroom, first door on the right. LPA observed laundry detergents are placed high up and inaccessible to children in care.

The primary childcare area is the living room, which is used for activity time/circle time and play. There are educational and age appropriate toys for the children to utilize. Bedroom 3 is used for napping. LPA observed 4 cribs in this room. Cribs are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Licensee conducts physical checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes to document any signs of distress, which includes but is not limited to: flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing. Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room.
