25 | On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at approximately 10:30 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alize Tillery and Amanda Sutter, met with Licensee Laura Pello, to conduct a Case Management inspection for the purpose of increasing the maximum capacity from 8 to 14 children. During the inspection there were 4 children being supervised by Licensee. With the help of the Licensee, a health and safety inspection of all areas accessible to children was conducted. Off limit areas consist of: garage, master bedroom, right side of backyard and backyard #2 (fence separates backyard #2 from backyard #1 - children’s play area). Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Licensee stated that the Fire Safety Inspection Clearance was granted on 7/18/2022. LPA is waiting to receive the granted document from the fire inspector. Current CPR/First Aid certificate is current and expires: 07/2023. The posted License, Parent's Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Fire Drill Log are all being maintained by the Licensee. Hazardous items were stored inaccessible to children in care and locks were observed on cabinets. Per Licensee, there is a weapon in the home appropriately stored in an off limit area. Fire extinguisher (2A10BC), carbon monoxide and smoke detector meet regulation. The outdoor area used by children at this time is fenced and age appropriate toys were observed. The Licensee understands that 100% supervision is required in any unfenced areas. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee understands that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changes. During the inspection, LPAs discussed ratio and capacity requirements.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitting to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm
