32 | The first allegation is Licensee yells at day care children in care.
Interviews with children and pertinent parties revealed that they have no concerns regarding the disciplining style of the Licensee, including yelling at children. Interviews revealed that if a child does not follow directions, they are asked to sit on the carpet and think about their actions as a way of redirection but are not punished or made to sit for long periods of time. Interviews with licensee revealed that Licensee does have a loud voice, which was corroborated by children, and often speaks in a loud tone or raises her voice to get the attention of the children or to prevent an accident.
The second allegation is Licensee slapped day care child while in care.
Interviews with children and pertinent parties revealed that the Licensee has never been observed being physical with children nor has anyone witnessed her slapping a child. Interviews further revealed that there is daily communication with parents and children which have not brought up any concerns regarding disciplining styles of the Licensee. In addition, when questioned about the allegation, the Licensee stated that she has never hit a child in care and denied allegation.
From the information received by interviews with Licensee and children the above allegation cannot be verified. Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations did or did not occur, therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
