13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tricia Danielson arrived unannounced to the facility to continue an investigation into the allegation listed above. LPA met with Director Jennifer Castaneda and explained the purpose of the visit.
During today's visit, LPA interviewed 5 staff and 5 children. Regarding the allegation "Staff hits children in care", it was alleged that a staff at the school has hit and thrown shoes at children in care. Five (5) of five (5) staff and five (5) of five (5) children interviewed denied ever observing or hearing of a staff hitting a child or throwing a shoe at a child in care.
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is no preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with and provided to Director Castaneda. Appeal Rights were also discussed and provided. An LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was also issued and must remain posted near the main entrance for 30 days. Non-compliance with posting will result in a $100 fine. This report must be accessible to the public for three years.
