25 | On 3/17/22 at 9:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Muna Shikhali. Licensee was provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment located on the first level was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. There were no children in care at time of inspection.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There are no off-limit areas. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. There is a nearby park that Licensee takes the children to for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that visual supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities. LPA conducted child care quality management interview with the Licensee.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. Some latches were found ineffective but did not have hazardous material inside the cabinet. There is a body of water on the property premises and it is properly fenced. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications will expire on 3/27/22. Licensee stated she is aware her certificate is expiring soon and will complete a recertification training before it does. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee is exempt from Mandated Reporter Training as their primary language is Somali. Children’s and Staff records were reviewed.
