32 | According to daycare parents interviewed, most parents reported no concerns regarding injuries caused by other students or due to lack of supervision; however, one parent reported she had concerns about supervision involving her child.
It was also alleged that staff failed to report the child’s injuries to the authorized representative. The Director denied the allegation, stating that staff informed the parent of the only observed incident, which involved the child bumping his head on the clipboard during sign out. Staff interviewed stated they did not observe any additional injuries requiring notification and denied witnessing any other incident involving the child’s forehead. LPA attempted to conduct interviews with daycare children; however, the children were unavailable as they were napping during the inspection. Daycare parents interviewed stated that incidents involving their children were reported immediately and they were provided with incident reports; however, one parent reported she had not been notified on several occasions when her child sustained injuries.
Due to conflicting information obtained throughout the course of the investigation and no other witnesses to the alleged incidents, LPA was unable to determine whether or not the allegations occurred. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. |
