LPA inspected the nap room, where children were resting. The nap room was orderly and free of hazards. LPA observed two cribs: one used for storage and the other occupied by an infant sleeping. The crib used for infant napping was free of toys, blankets, and pillows; the mattress fit properly; and a securely fitted sheet was in place. The fifteen-minute infant sleep logs were reviewed and found complete, including the child’s name, date, fifteen-minute interval checks, and staff initials. LPA reminded the licensee to maintain at least 30 days of logs available for review and to retain records for three years.
The kitchenette was inspected. All cleaning agents, disinfectants, and hazardous substances were stored out of children’s reach. Counters and food preparation areas were clean and free of hazards.
LPA proceeded to the bathroom. The bathroom was sanitary, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies. No hazards were observed.
The backyard is fully enclosed and well-maintained. The play structure and outdoor equipment were in good condition. The licensee installed artificial grass and soft padding cushions to reduce the risk of fall-related injuries. No pools, spas, or bodies of water were present on the property.
Children’s files were reviewed and found complete, including vaccination records, Parental Rights forms, and emergency information cards containing each child’s full name, phone number, and emergency contact details. Staff records were also reviewed. The licensee’s Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification is current and expires on March 21, 2027. The licensee and her assistant have current immunizations and have completed Mandated Reporter Training as required by AB 120.
The most recent fire and earthquake drill was completed and documented on June 19, 2026.
All required licensing postings were observed, including the facility license, Notification of Parents’ Rights, and the Earthquake Preparedness Checklist.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
