32 | Regarding allegation number 3: During the course of the 9/5/2023 visit, LPA observed a child upset and crying. Child was being comforted by a staff member, encouraging child to express their feelings in calming and safe manner. LPA did not observe a violation of child’s personal rights. Staff interviewed indicated the policy of discipline (one staff member stated to LPA does not like using the word “discipline”) is to redirect children to alternate play, persuade children to talk to their “friends” about their feelings, teaching to apologize, console with a hug, and explain to child conflict resolution.
LPA conducted a sampling of parent interviews who could not provide corroborate the allegations. All parents interviewed were satisfied with the care their child receives. Parent(s) indicated they have referred this FCCH to other families/parents, their child(ren) “love it there”, are reassured by the app staff utilizes which provides napping information such as if child is awake or asleep, activity if not sleeping, and time child has slept. Parent(s) indicated staff is appropriately disciplining their child and uses a quiet corner to talk about their feelings. One parent stated their child “loves it there, comes home singing and talks about the day.”
Although the above allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the above allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
This investigation is now closed.
An exit interview was conducted with the director, appeal rights, and a copy of LIC9213 Notice of site visit was provided. |
