25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Deanna Villagrana met with licensee Yolanda Mejia for an annual/random visit. LPA explained the nature of the visit. Present were licensee, licensee's husband and five day care children including one infant. Four of the children are licensee's grandchildren.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today’s inspection. LPA observed that the home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. LPA observed safe and sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. All sharp objects, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, poisons, and other similar items inside the home are stored inaccessible to children. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and a working combo smoke and carbon monoxide detector. There are no weapons/firearms or bodies of water.
Licensee requested to close her license and states she will only be caring for her grandchildren and possibly one child she has enrolled. Licensee stated due to family medical issues, she can no longer maintain the license. Yolanda Mejia provided a letter stating she wishes to close but was not able to find her license.
Facility is closed as of today November 22, 2024. LPA explained to licensee that she may care for her immediate family and the children of one family without a license. Licensee stated she understood.
No deficiency was cited during visit. |
