13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melchisedeck Augustin conducted an unannounced subsequent complaint-Investigation visit and met with Licensee, Dawnielle Wright (LS) to deliver the finding regarding the above allegation. On 02/07/22, LPA met with LS to initiate the investigation, discuss the purpose of the visit; and obtain a facility roster of the children currently in care. It was alleged that the facility operated over capacity.
LPA, Augustin interviewed LS, three children (C1-C3) and two staff (S1-S2), from 02/07/22 through 03/17/22. LS’ statement corroborated the allegation when she confirmed the facility operated with up to 18 children in care for at least two weeks in December 2021 and the whole month of January 2022, which is above the licensed capacity of 14. LS confirmed the facility transported older children from school to the facility, and prior to picking the children up from school, the facility already had 10 children in care. As such, with the existing 10 children in care, plus the additional children transported from school to the facility, it brought the total capacity to 18. (Continue to LIC 9099-C) |
