25 | On 7/28/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruby Ocegueda conducted an unannounced case management inspection at the facility for the purpose of verifying corrections for deficiencies cited on 6/27/2023 (see LIC 9099 and LIC 9099D for further details). LPA met with licensee Katherine Owens. A tour of the facility was conducted and census was taken.
Today, LPA Ocegueda collected a statement from licensee indicating she understood the requirement to adhere to the Personal Rights of children and in doing so avoid disclosing personal information about day care children to unauthorized adults.
Today, LPA toured the accessible back yard to ensure it was clean and safe. Today, LPA observed that the debris was cleaned up and that the broken toys were discarded. There was no longer accessible tools and the overgrown vegetation was cleaned up and trimmed.
In the day care room, licensee obtained a new infant play yard that is clean and no longer stained. Licensee also obtained a new high chair that is no longer stained. The changing table has a new clean fitted sheet on the changing pad.
Upon arrival, the kitchen counters were cluttered with various items, food and crumbs. Licensee stated she had just completing cooking breakfast. The kitchen sink cabinet was inaccessible and LPA did not observe any hazardous items on the counters. Today the counters were cleaned up by assistant/son and LPA discussed a plan to maintain the counters clean after meals with the help of her assistant/son. Licensee also stated she could also have the children play momentarily in the day care room (next to the kitchen) while she cleaned after meals in the event that she did not have an assistant to help clean. Licensee stated she could also place any random clutter in a box or out of reach of children daily to avoid forgetting any potentially hazardous items on the counters. Report continued to 809-C. |
