32 | Outside, licensee had several areas with extensive cobwebs, it was evident that the toys or objects that the cobwebs were observed on had not been cleaned recently. On top of a chicken coop, there were multiple items. Items included a rusted screwdriver, rusted metal objects, glass objects and pruning scissors. There were three stools next to the coop that children could climb and there was at least one child in care that could reach the lowest part of the top of the chicken coop. In a corner area of the play yard were multiple areas of heavy plant growth and rotting fruit. In the same area there were toys that were dirty and full of cobwebs. Child #2 was observed to have a dirty toy in his/her mouth today while outside. In a different area there was an accessible leaf blower. There was a bottle of gorilla brand glue (that had “keep out of reach of children”) on label on top of a high chair and that also had multiple items. Licensee confirmed that LPA had recently advised that licensee should monitor her yard for any uncleanliness and safety hazards. Licensee confirmed the observation. Licensee removed the leaf blower and gorilla brand glue today.
Inside the home, LPA’s observed a stained play yard, with tears on the netting. Licensee confirmed that infant #1 sleeps inside the play yard. The changing table had a dirty, stained, pillow and a dirty and stained changing pad. Licensee confirmed that the cat sleeps on the blankets that were stacked near the window. Licensee stated that the cat only sleeps on the very top blanket. Licensee confirmed that the cat likely brought in a mouse into the facility but that the children did not make contact with the dying mouse. Inside the kitchen, there were multiple items in the kitchen counters. The counters were unclean and cluttered. The stove also was full of other food items it was difficult to see the surface. Licensee confirmed that she continues to use the kitchen to prepare meals. In the kitchen area where the children pass through to go to the restroom, there was multiple cleaning solutions that were accessible. The day care room had a distinct odor but it was unclear where it stemmed from. Licensee confirmed that she does allow the animals to come in and today, there were three dogs that were observed inside the day care room.
As it pertains to the allegation related to licensee disclosing personal information of child(ren) in care, LPA was able to confirm via interview details about child #1 that only licensee would have information about. Interviews revealed that licensee did not protect child #1’s confidential information. LPA discussed avoiding making any comments related to children in care to others even in any casual manner.
