Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing DivisionNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“Based on observations and interviews, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. The licensee was operating over the allowed capacity when no assistant was present. At the time of inspection, the licensee was supervising eight children (three infants and five preschool-age children), exceeding the maximum capacity permitted for a large family child care home without an assistant. This posed a potential health and safety risk to children in care.”
“Based on observations and interviews, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. During the inspection, the licensee stated that her husband was present and acting as her assistant. LPA attempted to locate the husband in the areas identified by the licensee, but he was not present. Approximately 5–7 minutes later, LPA observed the husband entering the home from the garage stairs. Providing false information to the Department during an inspection interferes with Licensing’s ability to assess staffing, supervision, and capacity, and poses a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.”
