Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“One of the toddler chairs observed in classroom #147 was missing safety straps. NOTE: Corrected at inspection when the chair was removed.”
“Written policies in the Operational Policy was missing on the benefits of physical activity and outdoor play; The duration of physical activity at your operation, both indoor and outdoor; The type of physical activity (structured and unstructured) that children may engage in at your operation; Each setting in which your physical activity program will take place; and The criteria you will use to determine when extreme weather conditions pose a significant health risk that prohibits or limits outdoor play; and A plan to ensure physical activity occurs on days when extreme weather conditions prohibit or limit outdoor play.”
“The infant playgorund has a hole in the ground forming under the edge of the surfacing that has exposed jagged edges and is a tripping hazard.”
“The operation has installed a play scape with a slide that require a fall zone with surfacing. The operation does not have documentation for the rating of the unitary surface material available for review during the inspection.”
“2 of the 10 files audited are missing training in the topics: Emergency Preparedness, Preventing and controlling the spread of communicable diseases, administering medication, responding to emergencies due to food or allergic reaction, and handling hazardous materials.”
“The 6 capacity infant stroller has two 2 seats that have damaged clasps on the safety straps that cannot safely buckle.”
“The operation has installed a new playscape on the infant playground that does not have the proper use zone on all sides.”
“It was determined that a child sustained a minor injury while in care that was not communicated with parents upon pick up.”
“There were two infant training cups that were not labeled with the assigned infant's name on it. Note: This was corrected at inspection when the caregivers in the classroom made labels for the bottles.”
“There were no infant feeding schedules available for review during the inspection.”
