Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“The fire extinguisher was sitting on the floor under the desk.”
“The primary caregiver failed to notify licensing and failed to have a background check run prior to her adult son moving back into their home.”
“The primary caregiver could not locate for herself or her husband (who is also a caregiver) their training for the last completed year. The caregiver stated that they should be able to locate it soon but if not, they will recomplete it and send to licensing.”
“A four month old infant was found to be sleeping in a restrictive device that was placed on top of a king-size bed. There was also a blanket that had been placed on top of the child's stomach and legs. This was corrected at inspection when the caregiver moved the child to a pack-n-play without any other items inside of it.”
“During this inspection, the primary caregiver was the only caregiver present as her husband was not there. There were 2 infants and 8 children ages 18 months to 3yo, for a total of 10 children. The caregiver corrected this by having 3 children between the ages of 18mo-3yo be picked up by parents. She then came into compliance with 2 infants and 5 children ages 18mo-3yo.”
“There were multiple safety concerns found that posed a risk to child safety during this visit. For example: there was a bottle of 500mg Acetaminophen on a nightstand in a bedroom that the children were found sleeping in; there was a bottle of Downey Wrinkle Releaser spray and an aerosol can of Degree deodorant in bedrooms children were found sleeping in; there was an open bag of tools found on the ground in a bedroom children were found sleeping in, and there were multiple outlet covers found missing throughout the home. These were corrected at inspection when the children were removed from the rooms with the safety threats and outlet covers were replaced.”
“During a child's records audit, there were 3 of 8 children's records missing a health statement from a professional stating that they were healthy enough to attend daycare.”
