Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“A designated person was not avilable at the time of inspection.”
“The director was counted in ratio as a cargiver performing administrative and clerical duties while supervising children in care.”
“The director or a designated person was not avilable at the time of inspection.”
“An infant was in the classroom strapped into a highchair without a caregiver present.”
“The infant classroom was observed without a caregiver present.”
“A water hose was observed across the playground. This was corrected during the inspection.”
“2 of 4 staff files reviewed did not include a current first aid training certificate.”
“The emergency diagram did not include a designated location inside the child-care center where all caregivers and children take shelter from threatening weather. This deficiency was corrected during the inspection as this information was added to the diagram.”
“The operation's emergency preparedness plan was incomplete as it did not include the following: 1. How children will be evacuated or relocated to the designated safe area or alternate shelter, including specific procedures for evacuating and relocating children who are under 24 months of age, who have limited mobility, or who otherwise may need assistance in an emergency, such as children who have mental, visual, or hearing impairments. 2. How children in attendance at the time of the emergency will be accounted for at the designated safe area or alternate shelter. 3. How your staff will evacuate and relocate with the essential documentation including: (A)Parent and emergency contact telephone numbers for each child in care. (B)Authorization for emergency care for each child in care. (C)The child tracking system information for children in care. 4. How your staff will continue to care for the children until each child has been released. 5. How you will reunify the children with their parents as the evacuation, relocation, or sheltering/lock-down is lifted.”
