Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“A jungle gym was found outside.”
“The section on how to access minimum standards is missing from the parent handbook.”
“The guide is missing from the first aid kit.”
“Two records were lacking a complete school age statement.”
“The emergency medical authorizations were lacking a parent's signature.”
“One child's enrollment file was lacking a preschool health statement.”
“The home's operational policies were lacking information regarding safe sleep for infants. The home has begun to care for infants.”
“The home had an infant in a baby walker with wheels. This is a prohibited piece of equipment for infants. The infant was moved to another seat during the inspection.”
“The air conditioner was not safe guarded to make it inaccessible to the children in care.”
“The following safety hazards were observed: The fence in the backyard did not meet the ground. A child could gain access to this area and go under the fence. The gate latch is on the outside of the gate. This makes it difficult to open from the inside. A latch or handle should be on the inside for easy access in case of a fire. The shed outside is not locked. Children could gain access to this area. A lock must be installed on the outside. A broken table and chair were in the backyard. They are falling apart and must be removed.”
“The home's operational policies were lacking information related to the promotion of physical activity.”
“An emergency evacuation and relocation diagram was not available.”
“The home's fire extinguisher was not a 3A-40BC dry chemical fire extinguisher.”
