Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“During a DFPS investigation, there was a child who was taken to the hospital due to a high fever. The operation failed to report the incident to childcare regulation.”
“The operation's last fire inspection completed was in 03/25/34.”
“A caregiver providing care to children unsupervised, lacked 8 hours of pre-service training.”
“A caregiver without CPR certification was providing care to children unsupervised. This was corrected at inspection when the caregiver was moved with a qualified caregiver.”
“The handwashing sink temperature exceeded 120 degrees and was used by older children at inspection.”
“A group of children were observed at lunch time and the children did not wash their hands before eating. Additionally, the caregiver in the group assisted with feeding the youngest child and did not wash their hands prior.”
“The operation did not have the required emergency telephone numbers posted.”
“The activity plan for the infants did not include opportunities for outdoor play, and the activity plan for the toddlers did not include any times for the scheduled activities and had only one opportunity for outdoor play scheduled.”
“The operation's first aid kit did not include a thermometer.”
“The operational policies were missing policies for infant safe sleep, a promotion of physical activity, the criteria the operation will use to determine when weather prohibits outdoor play, a plan for physical activity to occur indoors when weather prohibits outdoor play, whether or not employee vaccinations are required, procedures for providing inclusive services to children with special needs, and a statement that the operation is a gang-free zone.”
