Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“A caregiver's ability to supervise and intervene to protect a child in care was limited due to the placement of furnishings in the room, resulting in one child hitting another with a heavy toy, causing injury.”
“A caregiver was observed tapping a child on the stomach while correcting the child.”
“A child was left unsupervised on the playground while in care.”
“A caregiver did not properly account for the children in her care during a period of transition resulting in a child being left outside unattended.”
“This standard was evaluated and found to be deficient. The caregiver pulled the cot the child was laying on closer to her causing him to fall forward and hit his mouth.”
“A student with a diagnosed food allergy does not have an epi pen available at the facility.”
“This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and found deficient. A caregiver interacted with students in a negative manner by focusing on the undesirable behaviors of students.”
“This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and found deficient. A caregiver threatened a child with punishment associated with both toilet training and food.”
“This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and found deficient. Caregivers were not current in First Aid training at the time of a child injury.”
“One caregiver was present with an inactive background check with children.”
“This standard was tasked as part of an investigation and found deficient. An allegation of children inappropriately touching each other was not reported to Licensing within two days of the operation receiving notification.”
“This standard was tasked as part of an investigation and found deficient. Children were not properly supervised by caregivers on the playground.”
“Diaper changing supplies such as ointments and wipes were stored within children's reach in one classroom. This was corrected at inspection when the diaper changing supplies were moved out of reach of children.”
“Two caregivers were present with pending background checks. This was corrected at inspection when caregivers left the operation.”
“A caregiver used corporal punishment towards a child.”
“A caregiver who was alone with children did not have current First Aid and CPR training.”
