Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“One child's epi-pen expired 03/2025.”
“This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and found to be deficient. Operational Policies regarding Support Inclusive Services conflict with Minimum Standards.”
“This standard was found deficient. A caregiver physically abused a child while at the operation.”
“This standard was found deficient. It was determined that the director did not properly supervise an employee at the operation.”
“This standard was found deficient. A caregiver lost her self-control while caring a child at the operation.”
“This standard was found deficient. It was determined that a caregiver utilized prohibited punishment on a child while at the operation.”
“This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and found to be in violation. A caregiver did not use good judgment in the way he went about getting his glasses back from a child who had taken them from him. After speaking with children in care, It seems the children look at this caregiver as somewhat of a peer as well as caregiver. The caregiver must assert authority in the role of "caregiver" rather than roughhouse with the children in care to ensure they treat him with respect and do not treat him as they would another child in care. Children taking caregivers' glasses should not be something that happens frequently in the classroom where the caregiver has to physically take them back. The child must realize the authority given the caregiver and give them back himself. Management staff may have to help if the child does not cooperate and do this on his own.”
