Violations
Text reproduced verbatim · Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care RegulationNearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.
Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.
“During an inspection, a caregiver was observed in a classroom with children that did not have a background check submitted. This was corrected when the caregiver left the operation.”
“Two children did not have current immunization records.”
“Observed two classrooms that did not know how many children that they had in care. One classroom stated that they had 15 children but actually had 16 children in care. Another classroom caregiver stated that they did not know how many children they had in the classroom, Licensing counted the children and there was 17 children.”
“Observed a caregiver place a sleeping infant on their stomach in the crib. I spoke to the caregiver about always laying infants on their backs and if the infant can roll to their stomachs then they can leave them in that position. The infant was turned around on their back. An administrative penalty will be recommended as a result of this citation, per HRC ?42.078.”
“I observed two infant classrooms that had infants sleeping in bouncy seats. One classroom had one infant sleeping in a bouncy and the teacher got up and removed the infant as they seen licensing walk in the room. The second classroom had two infants sleeping in bouncy seats. I asked the caregivers to place the infants in their cribs and this was completed during inspection. I explained to all infant caregivers that infants cannot sleep in bouncy seats and that they are used for play and not sleeping.”
“The last fire inspection was completed on 4/14/2022. The operation has scheduled an inspection for 4/15/2023.”
“Observed a person over the age of 14 in a classroom with access to the children in care without a cleared background check. This was corrected when the person left the operation and a background check was put in. An administrative penalty will be recommended as a result of this citation, per HRC ?42.078.”
“Observed a child in care under the age of 14 years old at the operation without being enrolled at the operation. This was corrected when the child left the operation.”
“During my walk through, a caregiver stated that there were 21 children present in the classroom, but there were 25 children in the classroom.”
